Not Quite Sober

official stats and write-up for

Week 4

February 28, 2002

We didn't lose every game this week!

This week's digest is brought to you by Nick.  Keep this in mind, if you notice any grammatical, spelling, or statistical errors.

This week's outing to Brunswick Roswell Lanes for league play proved to be the most fun thus far.  For the first time this season, our competitors seemed to be more of a challenger of Pitchers of Beer Consumed than pins knocked down.  Early drinking at Nick’s house gave Not Quite Sober a bit of an early edge and the immediate pitcher purchase made by Nick for his previous weeks performance allowed the phasing to continue.  As our competitors also began soaking themselves in alcohol, the atmosphere was one of relaxation and smiles.

Jake opened up the first game by bowling five consecutive strikes.  He was honored with applause by many after faltering on the perfect game in Frame 6 but still picking up the spare in a game that would end at 235 with marks throughout.

Our competitors proved to be entertaining as the alcohol settled in causing one particular player to do a belly slide off the wood back onto the floor after a strike and by performing the worm after earning a Turkey.

Jason continued to bowl consistently but lower than usual.  His inability to take responsibility for his bowling skills continued as he blamed it on not practicing as much this week due to illness.

Nick greatly improved his performance over last week, as he was able to bowl over 100 in all three games.  Using a new bowling proved useful as he went with the New Coke with his first ball and used the Crazy Hook to clean up any mess left behind.

Christina got off to a slow start but consistently got better throughout the evening.  Her major contribution was discovering that our competing team was using a player as a substitute that did not have an established handicap, thus allowing him to use the previous persons ridiculously high handicap, resulting in artificially high scores.  Christina straightened that out with the League however, much to that team's dismay, and may have allowed us to result in another win or two.
